Introducing Our First Collection

We’re thrilled to launch ART IN PIECES with a collection that not only showcases stunning artwork but also tells unique stories through every puzzle. Our first collection features the work of five talented independent artists, each bringing a different perspective to the table. From surreal landscapes to vibrant portraits, each piece has been carefully chosen to offer a deeper, more meaningful puzzle experience.

Rebecca Aldernet: Bold, Playful, and Dreamlike

Rebecca Aldernet is a seasoned artist who draws inspiration from the landscapes and seascapes of Atlantic Canada. With a background in commercial art, marketing, and entrepreneurship, Rebecca shifted her focus to full-time artistry, capturing the poetry of everyday life. Her vibrant works celebrate the connection between people and nature, where the ebb and flow of life mirrors the tides of the ocean.

Rebecca’s artwork, Spring Break, takes you to a whimsical poolside scene, blending fashion, surrealism, and bold colors. The central figure, confidently wearing a yellow bikini, stands beside an oversized bird, symbolizing the fusion of the organic world and human presence. The bright colors and dreamlike atmosphere create an energy that invites viewers to find beauty in the unexpected.

Iri B: Beauty Behind the Glass

Iri B is an oil painter based in Copenhagen, whose work explores the subtle beauty of distortion. Her palette follows the subject of each piece, immersing viewers in monochromatic depths of green, blue, or muted tones often contrasted by vivid elements. The realism of technique challenges perception, making it difficult to distinguish paint from reality. Her art is not about sending a message but about offering a moment of quiet admiration.

In Behind Glass, Iri brings the underwater world to life, capturing the essence of marine life through distorted glass panels. The vibrant coral reefs burst with color, creating a rich and lively backdrop to the curious fish that swim through the frames. The playful movement of the fish, along with the soft texture of the glass, transforms the scene into a world both familiar and otherworldly. The soft, fluid forms of the sea creatures and corals invite you to explore the mysterious depths of the ocean, where details slowly emerge as the glass distorts their shapes. This piece is a beautiful reflection of the hidden beauty that lies beneath the surface, encouraging you to take a closer look at the world around you.

Dawal: Surrealism Meets Symbolism

Dawal’s artistic practice is marked by a rich, evocative visual language that blends dreamlike elements, symbolism, and intricate storytelling. His work draws from surrealism, outsider art, and urban culture, creating vibrant narratives that explore complex themes of perception, identity, and modern contradictions.

In Blue Lagoon, Dawal combines whimsical characters and surreal elements to explore the intersection of imagination and logic. A robotic figure stands amidst a fragmented landscape, with chessboard patterns and winding staircases representing the complexities of life. Vivid flora and fauna bring balance to the piece, transforming the scene into a timeless space where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

Absurdistan, another of Dawal’s works in our collection, takes you into a surreal world where architectural fragments, organic growth, and enigmatic figures blend together. Floating staircases lead to impossible destinations, while mechanical and natural elements merge seamlessly. This playful yet thought-provoking piece challenges our perception of progress, primal instincts, and the unknown.

Bjørn Rune Lie: The Beauty of the Unexpected

Bjørn Rune Lie is a Norwegian artist based in a small fishing village in Fife, Scotland. He has worked as an illustrator for over 20 years with a wide range of international clients, but personal work has always been central to his practice. Over the years, he has developed a unique and personal visual language that is rich in detail and texture, while also maintaining a playful graphic quality.

Coral Flower is part of an ongoing series of experimental work he calls his “Flamboyant Flowers.” Combining techniques like paper marbling, rubber stamps, and pochoir stencilling, Bjørn creates strange, beautiful, and sometimes seedy “botanical illustrations.” Drawing inspiration from ceramic art, “natural curiosities” (especially the work of Ernst Haeckel), and the graphic rawness of Art Brut, he embraces the unpredictable in his never-ending quest for happy accident.
